I've been running 26 inch mtb wheels for a long time. I had an old GF 29er that rode like a pig. Had it for a week and sold it because it didn't ride well. Geometry and fork offsets have progressed and now 29ers are just as nimble as their early counterparts. Being on the shorter side and barely being able to standover a 29 inch wheel I've always had some reservations.
I got a chance to ride a new 29er and can honestly say it I liked it. The gearing was a little different due to the wheel size but that is an easy fix. Looking forward to riding the Sola 29er later this year.
Now about those tire recommendations......anyone have any?
